About Mel

Hey I’m Mel! On my perfect day, you can find me sitting under a tree with someone I love (including my cat, Tito), being creative, and listening to soft music.

Born under a full moon in late February— I am truly an artist at my core. I found myself with a tattoo machine in my hand in 2021, after my chosen career as a Social Worker had burnt out.

Tattooing embraced me with open arms and allowed me to explore my artistry in ways I hadn’t been able to before. Artistically, I have grown so much and I see the challenges I face as a gift— I love learning new techniques both on paper and then applying it to skin.

Tattooing is a very special energy exchange. The connections that I have experienced with my clients are easily my favorite part of the job— getting tattooed can be very personal and to be trusted with someone’s vision is something I take very seriously.

One of my first artistic expressions as a child was music! I played brass all throughout school, and find that I am very inspired by musical artists and enjoy drawing flash based on how I interpret the music I hear.

One of my dream tattoos would be an entire back piece of lyrics from your favorite song (With Arms Wide Open - Creed ?). Please send all Lana Del Rey and Tame Impala tattoos my way!

Aside from tattooing, I love to paint watercolor, write poetry, make collages, and work with dried & pressed flowers to make all sorts of framed designs. One of my favorite ways to spend time is to be outside in nature. The earth is my biggest inspiration in life and in art! I find joy in being intentional and enjoying the present moment.
